5 REASON’S WHY DEVON IS BRITAIN’S FAVOURITE COASTAL DESTINATION

Mr. Beaufort has just kicked off his boat shoes after spending a sunny few days on Devon’s coast shooting our latest summer campaign. Here are his five reasons why you should make the drive down and a few tips on what to pack.

SPLASH ABOUT ON BANTHAM BEACH

Britain's answer to the Mediterranean? Bantham Beach. (Minus the rather chilly sea temperature), the turquoise clear waters of Devon’s south coast look positively tropical!

What to wear: You’ll want to fit in with the Tropical surroundings with a Linen Shirt and a pair of our Holkham Stone Shorts!

GET IN THE SWING OF THINGS AT BURGH ISLAND HOTEL

If you’ve washed the sand out from between your toes and your ready to spruce up Gatsby style, then the Burgh Island Hotel ballroom is the place.

Accessing it is all part of the fun: via either a stroll at low tide or a more stylish vintage sea tractor at high tide or you could just take the chopper.

What to wear: To keep in theme and ensure you’re looking sharp, we’d recommend a classic Dress Shirt for the Black Tie Dinner.

DINE AT THE WINKING PRAWN RESTAURANT, SALCOMBE

When you’re ready to tuck into the catch of the day we would suggest you push aside the classic (but fairly predictable cod & chips) and let us direct your appetite towards this cove based, locals favourite. Perched on the waters edge, you’ll find the delights of the Winking Prawn. Don’t forget to try their not so fishy “Prawn Beer!”

Both a firm favourite for locals and every visitors new favourite spot, take a stroll down the South West Coast Path to explore the hidden coves at low tides.

What to wear: Our Millbrook Linen shirt with a pair of smart shorts should do the trick!

Take the hound for a run around at Hope Cove

As much as we all love going to the beach on holiday, there’s always that friend that gets a little more excited than you… Here’s one of our favourite dog friendly beaches they’ll love, not far from Salcombe.

What to wear: The Pineapple shirt and don’t forget the jacket, you haven't got the extra layer like your furry friend!

Cliff Jump at Baggy Point

Take the plunge and swap the diving board for the dramatic cliffs of Croyde. Or if you’d prefer, go for a scramble over the rocks at Grunter beach.

What to wear: Throw on a pair of our swim shorts for the plunge! (Store your essentials in one of our dry bags when you jump in.)

Visit our Holiday Shop and meet us at the beach!
